Afternoon Cup Of Coffee Cause Insomnia Coffee Myths

According to some coffee myths, an afternoon cup of coffee will cause insomnia and that is so not true. As all of us know, caffeine is a stimulant however, any caffeine consumed after lunch is actually processed through the liver at lightning speed and almost 75 percent of it is flushed out of our body between four to seven hours. For example, let’s say you decide to drink a cup of coffee at 3 in the afternoon it will be gone by bedtime.

Coffee myths have told us that coffee will help us losing weight and that is not completely true –yes, it increases our metabolism, but not enough to actually make us lose weight in the long-term. Caffeine will reduce our desire to eat and help out our digestions but it will never make a dent in our diet.

According to some coffee myths, pregnant women should not drink coffee because it could harm a fetus. And no, caffeine won’t harm a fetus, however, pregnant women have to limit their caffeine intake to about one cup of coffee a day because caffeine could pass through the placenta and actually reach the baby, but there are no studies proving it is harmful to him. Better to ask your doctor at your next appointment, better to be safe than sorry, right?
